His vision of using the power of football to improve people’s lives in his community and beyond has earned him the respect and gratitude of many near and far – from flood victims and under-privileged locals to young football enthusiasts and lots of fellow Man City fans. Thousands of you have now acknowledged Tanmay’s work and never-ending commitment by voting for him to be our official SAP & Man City Hero. Well done, Tanmay.
Tanmay and his nominator Shreyas will be flown to Bangkok, Thailand, to volunteer with Cityzens Giving’s Not Just for Kicks project where they will help to transform and revitalize a community space in the city to create a safe and iconic area for young people to play football. They will meet the inspirational Young Leaders who run the project and will support them in delivering a community football festival for local children. They will then be flown on to Hong Kong where they will join up with Manchester City’s pre-season tour and have a chance to meet some of the players.
Impacting the lives of 650 young people in Bangkok each year, Not Just For Kicks uses football to create safe spaces, engage vulnerable young people and teach important life skills that will keep them away from crime and gangs.
