Steven is a grassroots football coach at St. Anne's Junior Football Club based in Lancashire, UK. A lifelong City fan, Steven has been coaching three junior football teams every week for the last seven years. As Vice-Chairman of the club, he dedicates his spare time to creating a supporting and safe environment for 380 male and female players. Steve was nominated by his wife, Nicola, to shine a light on his tireless commitment to ensuring children of all abilities and backgrounds from St Anne's have access to fun, inclusive football, building their love of the game.
Tanmay is the founding member and Chairperson of the Official Manchester City Supporters Club based in Pune, India. His vision is to contribute towards the development of a footballing culture in the city and its community. Tanmay's commitment, however, goes far beyond football. After the devastating Kerala floods in 2018 he spearheaded a donation campaign with the Supporters Club to help those affected. He also regularly mobilizes the Supporters Club for further local initiatives such as organizing kids football training and food donations for the underprivileged. Tanmay was nominated by fellow City fan, Shreyas, to celebrate how he brings together Manchester City fans to have a positive impact on the community in Pune.
Virginia Beach, USA
Nicole has been volunteering since the age of fourteen and for the last three years has been working with StandUp For Kids Hampton Roads, a non-profit organisation that helps support disconnected and homeless youth in Virgina Beach. As well as running her own daycare centre and studying full time, City fan Nicole has also become the volunteer co-Executive Director of StandUp For Kids. She is dedicated to making sure that the most vulnerable young people in the community have access to food, shelter and know there is someone who cares. Nicole was nominated by her husband, Matt, in proud recognition of her hard work. Nicole's phone rings 24/7 but when it comes to "her kids", there is no off time if they need help.
Not all heroes wear capes. In fact, heroes are all around us. This is why SAP and Manchester City support and reward voluntary work – locally as well as globally. Whether it's the local football coach, the tireless volunteer or the enthusiastic fundraiser: anyone can help to make the world run better.
